About the Role

The Senior Mortgage Retention Specialist will be responsible for establishing and maintaining professional relationships with borrowers and/or brokers whose mortgages are approaching maturity. This involves reviewing individual files, assessing client needs, providing necessary information, and negotiating renewals while adhering to the bank's policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate renewals within predetermined pricing ranges, maximizing bank profits while offering the best product to borrowers.
  • Assess borrowers on an individual basis, making knowledgeable recommendations that address their needs while maintaining the bank's interests.
  • Monitor mortgages that no longer meet Equitable Bank's risk assessment standards, working with borrowers and/or third parties to ensure efficient and timely transitions.
Requirements:
  • Completed post-secondary program in a related discipline and/or 2-3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Computer literate (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel).
  • Working knowledge of residential mortgages and processes, and thorough understanding of products offered by Equitable.

The incumbent will work hybrid and spend in-office time at Equitable Bank's office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
