About the Role

Safeway is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Deli Food Service Associate to join our team. As a key member of our deli team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional food shopping experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold food items, including sandwiches, salads, and soups, to meet customer demands.
  • Operate cash registers, process transactions, and handle customer payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized deli area, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales goals, promote products, and drive customer engagement.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a food service or retail environment an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a dynamic and changing environment.
