About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our team at 489486BC LTD. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the Cash Register: Accurately process transactions, handle cash, cheques, and credit/debit card payments, and maintain a clean and organized cash handling area.
  • Stock Shelves and Maintain a Clean Counter Area: Ensure that shelves are fully stocked and the counter area is clean and tidy at all times.
  • Welcome and Assist Customers: Greet customers, answer questions, and provide top-notch customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in Promotional Activities: Participate in sales promotions, product demonstrations, and other in-store events to drive sales and engage customers.
  • Engage in Suggestive Selling: Offer customers product recommendations and suggestions to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Calculate and Process Payments: Accurately calculate the total payment for goods or services and process payments in a timely manner.
  • Keep Track of Daily/Shift Payments and Reconcile with Total Sales: Maintain accurate records of daily/shift payments and reconcile with total sales to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Dynamic and Fast-Paced Setting: Work in a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment with a high volume of customers.
  • Capable of Working Under Pressure: Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm and composed demeanor in a busy retail environment.
  • Required to Stand for Extended Periods: Stand for extended periods and move around the store as needed to assist customers and perform tasks.

Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Engage in Government or Community Programs: Engage in government or community programs that assist newcomers and refugees, such as language training and job placement services.
  • Help with Immediate Settlement Needs: Help with the immediate settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, such as housing, transportation, and childcare.
  • Support Social and Labor Market Integration: Support the social and labor market integration of newcomers and refugees by aiding access to community resources and skills training.
