Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Estimator to join our team in Winnipeg. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for building relationships with architects, engineers, and design build consultants to identify new business opportunities.

About the Role:
This full-time position involves analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates. You will also be responsible for sourcing and communicating new business opportunities and market intelligence to the branch manager and director of sales. Additionally, you will work closely with production areas to create and record production plans, including quoting prices for materials and outside services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing job specifications to ensure all required information for calculating cost is included
  • Preparing time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying specialized methodologies, techniques, or processes
  • Sourcing and communicating new business opportunities and market intelligence to the branch manager and director of sales
  • Collaborating with production areas to create and record production plans, including quoting prices for materials and outside services


Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need three or more years of commercial estimating related experience and/or training. A proven sales record, self-starter mentality, disciplined work ethic, and organizational skills are essential. You should also possess excellent account management, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as the ability to read, analyze, and interpret tender documents, specifications, and scope of work descriptions.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $75,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
