Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ski and Snowboard Repair Technician to join our team at Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. As a key member of our repair team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality repairs and maintenance of our ski and snowboard equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee procedures for repair shop products and services, including ski/snowboard tuning, major repairs, and machinery maintenance.
  • Advocate for health and safety, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Conduct ongoing training with repair shop staff to ensure consistent, quality repairs and service.
  • Supervise repair staff to ensure high levels of efficiency and output with an emphasis on guest service and sales.
  • Assist in staff scheduling, orientation, training, and delegation of tasks.
  • Provide an exceptional level of customer service through direct interaction, sales, and service.
  • Assist guests with sizing and fitting of appropriate rental equipment for comfort and safety.
  • Manage labor costs by assigning tasks and setting schedules for employees.
  • Maintain inventory of shop tools and supplies.
  • Maintain rental equipment and track maintenance history for gear.
  • Ensure documentation for repairs is properly and completely processed, filed, and archived.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with tuning and major repair of ski and snowboard equipment.
  • Familiarity with Wintersteiger machine operation, including base grinder, stone grinder, and ceramic disk edge finisher.
  • Basic knowledge of outdoor equipment, recreation, ski, or related retail shops.
  • Experience with ski and snowboard rentals, including waiver delivery and describing safe use of equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Point of Sale (POS) applications.
  • Previous experience effectively managing or supervising a team.
  • Passion for mountain culture, skiing/snowboarding, and the resort environment.
