Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct bridge inspections in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Complete daily health and safety documentation and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and be away from home for periods of time.
  • Conduct structure deterioration mapping and provide recommendations for maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation.
  • Keep accurate records and input data into a database.
  • Use various hand tools and care for rental vehicles.
  • Attend team progress meetings and participate in project discussions.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Civil3D to prepare structural drawings and input inspection data into Bridge Management software.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology/Technician engineering with a strong interest in Bridge Engineering.
  • OACETT designation or eligibility.
  • P.Eng. designation an asset.
  • 4+ years of experience leading biennial inspections.
  • Attendance at the MTO 2021 Inspectors workshop.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license.
  • Ability to perform outdoor physical duties and work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
