About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team at the Teraanga Commons Dining Hall on Carleton University campus. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cook food following recipes for a high-volume kitchen
  • Ensure adherence to recipes to meet any dietary requirements
  • Take culinary lead on the floor within the location
  • Ensure consistent quality, preparation, and presentation of food
  • Provide courteous, professional customer service at all times
  • Assist with controlling waste and spoilage
  • Assist with culinary auditing, and food safety measures
  • Assist with weekly inventory
  • Maintain continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area
  • Ensure adherence to all of Aramark Policies and Procedures

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in the Culinary field
  • Experience with basic food preparation and various cooking methods
  • Knowledge of food, sanitization, and health and safety standards
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Problem solving
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Enjoy working with others in a team setting

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on industry standards and comparable roles in the Ottawa area.
