Job Description

\

The Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist will provide individualized services, including resume and cover letter preparation, job search skills training, and individual job placement support to adults with disabilities who face employment barriers.

\

Responsibilities

  • \
  • Accept referrals and review client plans and documentation provided by the referral source.\
  • Provide services to adults with disabilities who face employment barriers.\
  • Assist individuals with disabilities in identifying realistic employment options through vocational testing, assessment, and exploration.\
  • Conduct transferable skills analysis and labor market research.\
  • Affectively assess client motivation and employment barriers related to disabilities and provide supportive measures.\
  • Develop and prepare cover letters and resumes; deliver job search skills training.\
  • Monitor and document client progress, intervening when needed to ensure client/employer matches.\
  • Provide individualized job placement services, negotiate employment opportunities, and arrange wage subsidies as required.\
  • Offer follow-up support to employers, including regular check-ins, accommodation support, and necessary interventions to ensure positive outcomes.\

Required Skills and Qualifications

\

To be successful in this role, you must possess a Post-secondary degree in a related field and CCDP certification, with minimum 2 years of directly related experience within the last 5 years in job search skills, resume and cover letter preparation, and job placement services. You should also have demonstrated experience in assessing complex client needs, providing resume and cover letter preparation, job search skills training, and job placement services.
