About the Role

CIMA+ is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in the design and development of hydroelectric power plants. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design of high-power switchgears and controlgears, working closely with our team of engineers and technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design electrical power systems, including their layout, for various hydroelectric power plant projects.
  • Project Coordination: Participate in the development of power systems, including diagrams and drawings for the implementation of switchgear and controlgear, such as medium voltage cabinets, control panels, power distribution centres, etc.
  • Deliverables: Prepare project deliverables, such as drawings (top view, elevation), including detailed drawings, various layouts, diagrams, etc.
  • Calculations and Selection: Perform or validate calculations for equipment sizing, selection of power cable gauges, etc.
  • Material Management: Select material and calculate quantities.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate electrical work with other engineering disciplines, such as structural, civil, control and protection, auxiliary mechanics, heavy mechanics, building and architecture.
Requirements
  • Education: University Degree in Electrical engineering
  • Professional Membership: Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Experience: More than five (5) years of experience
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the standards established by Hydro-Québec or other public utility (an asset), knowledge of power distribution - methods, practices and tools used in the design of power systems, practical knowledge of design software (AutoCAD and others), fluency in oral and written French, proficiency in English, knowledge of applicable design standards and codes, including the Quebec Electrical Code, resourcefulness, motivation, enthusiasm, and strong will to deliver successful projects.
