Business Operations Manager Job Description

The Business Operations Manager plays a critical role in supporting the office leader in driving business growth, managing staff, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. This position requires a strong understanding of business operations, project management, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the office leader to develop and implement business strategies, including financial planning, project portfolio management, and staff development.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure project fees are competitive and scopes are achievable, while maintaining a minimum of 15% profit margin.
  • Develop and monitor a strategic business plan, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with corporate teams, including TPS, architecture design, interior design, accounting, marketing, and IT, to discuss project performance and deliver best-in-class results.
  • Ensure a high level of client service, resulting in repeat business, by implementing an effective QA/QC process for every project.
  • Be a technical resource to staff, fostering a strong team atmosphere with a positive attitude and good morale.
  • Responsible for all training across the office, including technical, processes, software, financial management, and project management.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred equivalent of a bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, or civil engineering.
  • 8 years of practice experience and two years of project management experience leading successful project teams, inclusive of resource teams or equivalent business operations experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
