We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer Lead to join our team at Sync. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for leading backend development efforts, guiding the technical direction of our projects, and mentoring a team of talented developers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of sophisticated backend solutions, focusing on database optimization and performance.
  • Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
  • Continuously refactor for efficiency and embed risk and security controls in your designs.
  • Design and engineer solutions with a strategic focus on database performance, risk management, and security.
  • Participate in the strategic development of platform architecture and infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on database systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and design analyses for new business requirements.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our backend systems, particularly databases, remain modern and efficient.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB etc.)
  • Extensive experience in backend microservices and databases
  • Should have led and demonstrated transformation initiatives in complex global environments and progressive companies
  • Detailed experience in Agile development teams
  • Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or Node
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
