Locum Physician Opportunity in Dartmouth

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a short-term locum family physician to cover a two-week leave for a family physician at Woodlawn Medical Centre in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
This modern clinic is a large collaborative practice with family physicians, nurse practitioners, family practice nurses, and specialists on site. The clinic is well-maintained, professionally managed, and fully supported by friendly administrative staff.
ResponsibilitiesThe locum physician will be responsible for:
- Examining patients and taking their histories
- Ordering diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advising patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consulting and referring to other medical practitioners
- Acting as a patient's advocate
- Prescribing and administering medications and treatments
- Reporting births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
The ideal candidate will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). They will also have current membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
