The clinic is well-maintained, professionally managed, and fully supported by friendly administrative staff. As a locum family physician, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this locum position include:
- Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient's advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious, and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
To be eligible for this locum position, you must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). You must also have current membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
