Locum Physician Opportunity in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a short-term locum physician to cover a two-week leave for a family physician at Woodlawn Medical Centre in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

ResponsibilitiesThe locum physician will be responsible for:
- Examining patients and taking their histories
- Ordering diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advising patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consulting and referring to other medical practitioners
- Acting as a patient's advocate
- Prescribing and administering medications and treatments
- Reporting births, deaths, contagious, and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
The ideal candidate will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). They will also be required to have current certification with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
