About the Role

Amazon is seeking an experienced and innovative Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon Health and Safety policies and regulations.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead and develop a team of Health and Safety professionals, creating and executing leadership development plans to ensure the team's success.
  • Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes, ensuring a safe and healthful working environment for our associates.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Establish high-quality relationships with site and regional leadership, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to drive business results.
  • Performance Measurement and Improvement: Measure site performance against published requirements in Health and Safety policies, identifying areas for improvement and driving accountability for corrective actions.
  • Incident Analysis and Prevention: Analyze Health and Safety metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of resources to areas with the highest risk.
  • Audit and Compliance: Perform frequent site Health and Safety audits to identify non-compliance equipment and processes, implementing solutions to eliminate exposure to risks and prevent injuries.
  • Training and Development: Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy, auditing the quality and effectiveness of all required Health and Safety training.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of Amazon experience, with 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in Health and Safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Certifications and Training: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification.
