About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Government of Northwest Territories. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities to help them develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional abilities to identify areas for improvement.
  • Design and implement adaptive equipment and strategies to enhance patients' independence and mobility.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on proper techniques and strategies for daily living and work activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and technologies in occupational therapy to provide evidence-based care.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia or a related regulatory body.
  • Proven experience working with patients with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
