About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Government of Northwest Territories. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities to develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans to help them achieve their goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to clients, using a variety of techniques and strategies to promote independence and skill development.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
  • Conduct home visits and assessments to identify clients' needs and develop strategies to support their independence.
  • Develop and implement programs to promote health and wellness, such as exercise classes and education sessions.

Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia or a similar regulatory body.
  • Experience working with clients with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
