Parenting Facilitator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Parenting Facilitator to join our team at Our Lady of the Assumption. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Early On Child & Family Centre, facilitating parenting education, and promoting a positive home/school partnership.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Early On Child & Family Centre
- Facilitate parenting education and promote a positive home/school partnership
- Encourage parental engagement in planning and participating in activities with the children
- Work collaboratively with the Principal, school staff, and childcare staff to provide a high-quality, play-based, developmentally appropriate program
- Ensure consistent program delivery based on current research and best practices
- Provide a welcoming, safe, tidy, and clean environment for parents/caregivers and children
- Provide a nutritious snack to the children attending the program
- Participate in outreach activities to promote the program and maintain attendance levels
- Track program progress and attendance, and ensure records are kept up to date
- Perform administrative duties, such as data collection for program statistics, maintaining inventory of the Centre, and submitting written requests for supplies and equipment
- Participate in ongoing professional development and various meetings as required
- Early Childhood Education Diploma plus at least 2 years of related university education
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with families and their young children (ages 0-6) in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of and experience in family literacy and early childhood education
- Knowledge of the early acquisition of literacy and numeracy skills
- Experience in working with various outreach and community development programs
- Strong leadership, communications, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of How does learning happen document and learning through play & inquiry and Reggio Emilia Theory an asset
