Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our multidisciplinary team at Alberta Health Services. As an LPN, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for acute and chronic renal failure patient populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient and family centered care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Work within the guidelines and philosophy of the Alberta Kidney Care program.
- Encourage and provide a variety of nursing duties in accordance with current policies and nursing care standards.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited LPN education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Minimum 1-2 years recent Adult Acute Care experience.
- Recent acute and chronic hemodialysis and/or nephrology nursing experience.
Education and Training:
- Must have Physical Assessment, IV Therapy, and Medication Administration course.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs (18kg).
- Proof of successful completion of the CLPNA Administering Blood or Blood Products module is required if you were a graduate prior to June 2022.
Work Environment:
- This position is based in the Westlock Hemodialysis Unit.
