Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Emergency Nurse Specialist to join our team at UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC.

About the Role

As an Emergency Nurse Specialist with VCH, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting. Your expertise will be essential in assessing patient needs, prioritizing care requirements, and stabilizing and resuscitating patients with complex injuries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages, including those with complex injuries and trauma.
  • Assess patient needs and prioritize care requirements in a timely and effective manner.
  • Stabilize and resuscitate patients with life-threatening injuries, including multi-trauma victims.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in emergency nursing practice, staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based guidelines and best practices.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Completion of a recognized advanced program in emergency care nursing or two (2) years' recent, related experience.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family-centered model of care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency setting, prioritizing care requirements and managing complex patient needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
