Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Emergency Department Experience: Provide emergency care to pediatric patients, including resuscitation and stabilization, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Mental Health Expertise: Work with children, adolescents, and families to address mental health concerns, provide crisis intervention, and develop treatment plans.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and coordinate services.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices, participate in ongoing education and training, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Education and Certification: Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Experience: 1+ year of recent, related clinical experience in pediatrics or an Emergency Department setting; Emergency Nursing Pediatric course (ENPC)/Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/Trauma Nursing Core Course preferred (TNCC).
- Skills and Knowledge: Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
