Job Summary

The Energy Performance Specialist will play a key role in identifying and implementing plans to improve energy performance at the Cambridge site, aligning with Septodont's global sustainability goals. This position will drive site initiatives and actions to maintain compliance and achieve sustainability objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage an energy dashboard, monitoring system, and utilities consumption analysis.
  • Manage energy performance, including electric, gas, and water, and create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure progress.
  • Make recommendations to leadership on energy policies, roadmaps, and project development.
  • Develop energy models to represent energy use and consumption, and identify projects to reduce energy consumption.
  • Assess project engineering risk and energy/cost reduction estimates, and provide technical analysis for energy upgrade projects.
  • Develop scopes of work for consulting engineers and contractors, and manage energy reduction project plans.
  • Analyze utility company rate structures, purchase programs, rebates, and incentives.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on energy and water conservation, and create monthly reports on energy upgrades progress.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify and lead energy and environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with energy regulations and share information with site leadership and global stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Define, optimize, and modify standard operating procedures (SOPs) to integrate with an energy management system.
  • Act as an energy ambassador, aligning site goals and ambitions, and communicating directly with site leadership.
  • Maintain a high level of pharmaceutical compliance and regulatory safety in all aspects of work.
  • Follow GMP and regulatory requirements, and ensure quality standards are met.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering/Engineering Science degree is required.
  • P.Eng is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in pharmaceutical, food/beverage, or consumer packaging.
  • 2+ years in Energy and Utility management.
  • Demonstrated mastery of energy consumption modeling and use of measurement tools.
