Your Opportunity:

The Administrative Support V position is an advanced role within Alberta Health Services, providing support to the Spiritual Care, Social Work, and Ambulatory portfolios. This position involves direct patient care by assisting or redirecting patients to appropriate clinical resources, demonstrating kindness and empathy in all interactions. The incumbent works with minimal guidance, utilizing a strong understanding of the complex needs and priorities of the portfolios. Key responsibilities include operational, information management, and human resource support, as well as ordering, tracking, and maintaining clinical and patient supplies, account reconciliation, drafting reports, staff scheduling, and payroll. The incumbent must use their judgment to interpret requests and determine requirements to meet project/task timelines, addressing escalated issues or problems where established processes or guidelines may not exist.

Description:

As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices, and initiatives within a department or program. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong understanding of clinical settings and a proven ability to work with minimal guidance.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (certificate in office or business administration) is required. Recent experience in providing advanced administrative support within a clinical setting is also necessary. Additionally, completion of post-secondary certification, certification in business, human resources, or healthcare, and advanced knowledge and skills in the use of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and MS Teams, are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

A high degree of customer service, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and critical thinking are required. Proven ability to learn new software and develop processes to support changes in workflow is also an asset. Experience with RMS processes and expertise in building and maintaining shift work schedules (24/7) in both traditional scheduling programs and Microsoft-based programs are definite assets.
