Environmental Resource Management Educator

We are seeking an experienced Forestry Instructor to join our team at the School of Environmental Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for instruction, curriculum development, and fostering relationships with the broader community.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Deliver full-time Faculty Position contracts as identified by the Lethbridge College Faculty Association collective agreement.
- Demonstrate commitment to professional development and scholarship.
- Contribute to the goals and activities of the Centre for Technology, Environment & Design (CTED).
- Support inclusiveness and diversity through embracing Lethbridge College's policies on indigenization and internationalization.
The primary assignment will be within the Renewable Resource Management, Environmental Assessment & Restoration, Natural Resource Compliance, and the Bachelor of Ecosystem Management programs. Responsibilities include delivering courses congruent with established course curricula and program outcomes, supporting student success, assessing student learning, contributing to curriculum development, and working collegially within the School, Centre or College committees and project teams.
Primary Instructional AssignmentThe primary instructional assignment includes:
- RRM-2264 Forest Management: A strong background in forest ecology, experience in timber operations and planning, silviculture, technical field experience in dendrology, tree measurement, forest inventory, and timber harvest planning and operations.
- RRM-2299 Fire Management: A strong background in fire weather, fire behaviour, wildfire operations, fire ecology, prescribed fire management, application of the Fire Weather Index (FWI) and Fire Behaviour Prediction (FBP) Systems.
- RRM-2250 Grassland and Forest Resources: This is a team-taught course where the successful candidate would be responsible for delivering forestry outcomes specific to this course in a compressed format.
A Master of Science in a forest-related discipline or a Master of Science in-progress will be considered. The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry with significant years of field experience in forest management and fire management. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are necessary to contribute positively to a team environment.
SalaryThe estimated salary range for this position is between $70,000-$90,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
