Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our organization, ensuring that our HR practices and policies are aligned with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • HR Administration: Provide administrative support to the HR department, including maintaining employee records, processing payroll, and managing benefits.
  • Recruitment and Hiring: Coordinate the recruitment and hiring process, including posting job ads, screening resumes, and conducting interviews.
  • Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, and to support the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that the organization is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and identify and mitigate potential risks.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in HR, preferably in a non-profit or Indigenous organization.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legislation, including employment equity, human rights, and labour relations.
