Germain Hôtels is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced professional to perform routine maintenance and repairs on various building systems, including boilers, plumbing, ventilation, and electrical systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of these systems and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on boilers, pumps, ventilation systems, plumbing, water and sewage systems, and other building components.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 100 pounds. Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
  • Ensure that appropriate logs and records are current.
  • Assist in maintaining an up-to-date technical library on all mechanical and boiler-related systems and components.
  • Ensure that work orders are completed; time sheets properly reflect each day's activity.
  • Comply with safety precautions at all times and supervise General Maintenance Worker II and General Maintenance Worker I personnel when assigned for job tasks.
  • Perform both inside and outside maintenance and repair functions.
  • Advise of system failures and, when directed, take appropriate actions.
  • Promote a safe working environment by practicing safe work habits.
  • Perform administrative duties and respond to all departmental emergencies.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of boiler systems, pumps, ventilation systems, electrical, plumbing, water and sewage systems and other general maintenance work.
  • An attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize workload.
  • In good physical condition, capable of handling heavy materials and performing labor-intensive duties. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • A professional and helpful demeanor both on the phone and in person.
