About the Opportunity

The Healthcare Social Worker is a key member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing therapeutic interventions to support clients and families in achieving holistic functioning. This role involves facilitating group programming in an outpatient and community setting, focusing on recovery and psychosocial rehabilitation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing group interventions that promote life skills, wellness, and health promotion, while also addressing relapse prevention and self-care.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker with a strong background in mental health and addiction. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, and at least 2 years of post-BSW clinical experience. Previous experience working with clients with mental health concerns is preferred, as is knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). The successful candidate will also possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with community partners, and a valid Nova Scotia Driver's license.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent part-time (50%) position, with 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $33.97 - $42.89, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
