Health Care Social Worker

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Health Care Social Worker to join our team. As a member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide collaborative, holistic care on the primary to quaternary care continuum. Your expertise in social work theory and practice will be essential in addressing the social determinants of health and promoting the well-being of our patients/clients.
You will work closely with our healthcare team to build upon the strengths of patients/clients, focusing on existing coping strategies and problem-solving skills, past successes, and personal resources. Your ability to use a client-/family-centered approach and demonstrate effective time management and disciplined self-organization will be valuable assets in this role.
Some travel may be required for this position, and you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality care. If you have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized university and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, we encourage you to apply.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with 2 years' post BSW related clinical experience, knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), and previous experience working in adult community mental health. Your ability to use evidence-based treatment approaches, such as Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Motivational Interviewing, and demonstrate effective communication skills will be essential in this role.
