About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our team at Teck Resources Limited. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in developing data pipelines and data models to support various business intelligence and analytics tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using ETL tools, database management system tools, and programming languages such as Python and C++.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to improve data availability and presentation.
  • Design and develop data models to structure data for Business Intelligence consumption formats.
  • Perform data aggregation across various warehousing models, such as OLAP cubes and star schemas.
  • Ensure data security requirements are incorporated into design.
  • Adhere to I/S control policies throughout design, development, and testing.
  • Perform unit and integration testing.
  • Identify and troubleshoot application issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent, combined with a minimum of 3 years' experience or a diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent, combined with a minimum of 4.5 years' experience.
  • Minimum three years' experience in data analysis and preparation, including experience with very large data sets of unstructured data.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or SQL Data Warehouse.
  • Understanding of SQL scripting, Python, and R.
  • Experience in database development and data modeling.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power Bi, QlikView, QlikSense, SSRS, SSIS, and Excel.
  • Experience in developing reports, dashboards, and KPI visualizations across multiple domains.
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines would be an asset.
  • Ability to understand business drivers and challenges faced by clients.
  • Ability to proficiently deal with multiple competing priorities.
  • Critical thinker with an aptitude for problem solving.
  • Effective verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to business users.
  • Personable and interacts in a cordial manner, effective results-driven team, and cross-team player.
