Position Overview

As an integral part of a dedicated and innovative team, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of top-tier automation solutions. Your role will encompass contributing to machinery concepts, developing control software, and integrating this software with electrical and mechanical systems. Additionally, you will engage in process development and oversee machine installations at various client locations globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement software solutions (PLC and/or PC based) tailored to specific client and project needs, adhering to established programming methodologies.
  • Conduct debugging and commissioning of control systems both at our facility and on-site during installation phases.
  • Travel as necessary to client and supplier locations for installation, commissioning, and training purposes.
  • Select, evaluate, and integrate hardware and software components including robotics, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems, and lasers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the control systems design department and other teams to enhance integration methods, focusing on improved safety, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with labor and material budgets, as well as project timelines, through effective teamwork.
  • Engage with clients, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to troubleshoot and deliver comprehensive automation systems.
  • Perform rigorous testing of machine functionality to confirm the completeness of software programs.
  • Prepare detailed documentation for each project undertaken.
  • Provide technical guidance to clients in resolving issues.
  • Deliver tailored training to clients regarding their specific projects, including machine operation and programming fundamentals.
  • Responsibilities may evolve based on individual capabilities and project demands.


Qualifications

Education:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, with a focus on mechanical, electrical, systems, or computer engineering.

Experience:

  • Proficient programming skills coupled with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with robotics, control systems, and machine operations, with practical experience being advantageous.
  • A proactive individual capable of thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.
