Operations Manager

About the Role:
Parkland Corporation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Summerside, PEI. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall performance of our business units, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and supervising day-to-day operations to drive sales revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities for team members, ensuring good succession planning.
- Foster a positive work environment that aligns with Parkland's values, policies, and best practices.
- Supervise day-to-day operations, ensuring all tasks are conducted correctly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the Territory Manager to analyze and review branch finances and operations, optimizing productivity and costs.
- Plan customer calls and visits to provide exceptional service, retaining and expanding existing business relationships, and acquiring new business.
- Coordinate product ordering, manage inventory, and oversee the monthly inventory process to ensure accurate product balances.
- Provide product knowledge and solutions to customers and employees as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance of property and equipment, ensuring everything is accounted for and in working order.
- Liaise with various stakeholders, including the Territory Manager, other branches, and internal departments.
- Participate in Parkland's request for quotation and request for proposal processes, analyzing success and implementing similar channels to set up accounts.
- Address customer issues involving pricing and deliveries, developing solutions to maintain business relationships.
- Assign, check, coordinate, and schedule employee work, including leaves and vacations; interview prospective employees, recommend candidates, and hire new employees; discipline subordinates and conduct employee appraisals; establish work priorities and determine staff requirements.
Requirements:
- University degree and/or 5+ years of progressive experience in operations management, business accounting, marketing, and sales.
- Industry knowledge relating to energy distribution is an asset.
- Must have experience leading and supervising a team.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven leadership ability, maintaining a pleasant and friendly manner.
- Experience working with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Safety-oriented.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an abstract in good standing.
- Ability to travel weekly, or as required, for business purposes.
- Be available for after-hours and on-call to meet business demands.
