About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Financial Operations Process Specialist to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and implementing onboarding initiatives related to new or existing financial processes and products.

About the Job

This is a full-time salaried position with an estimated annual salary of $120,000-$180,000, based on location and experience. You will work 37.5 hours per week in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in financial services, with a strong background in business analysis, process mapping, and optimization. You will also possess project management experience, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial processes, including general ledger reconciliation, attestation, and journal entry processing.

You will lead onboarding initiatives of varying nature, complexity, and scale, coordinating with stakeholders in finance, business, operations, and IT to ensure smooth transitions of finance operations into Shared Services. Additionally, you will represent Shared Services as a subject matter expert on new product implementation projects, working with business and finance teams to define financial processes and provide requirements for effective and efficient journal entry and/or reconciliation processes.

Your responsibilities will include building partnerships with stakeholders to develop a pipeline of onboarding initiatives, identifying process gaps and inefficiencies, streamlining processes with a focus on controls and end-user experience, and collaborating with automation teams to automate processes where possible.

As a Financial Operations Process Specialist, you will document processes in process maps and standard operating procedures, provide training and process shadowing, and arrange necessary access to implement initiatives in business as usual (BAU).

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, preferably in RBC Finance and Operations
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, process mapping, and optimization
  • 3+ years of project management experience, with the ability to develop and move projects forward independently and autonomously
  • Strong financial process knowledge, including general ledger reconciliation, attestation, and journal entry processing
  • Excellent analytical skills and critical thinking, with the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced and changing environment
