Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to advance Hydro One's corporate goals and interests in Indigenous communities, while demonstrating mutual respect and understanding.
- Provide strategic advice and counsel to senior management on Indigenous relations and business development initiatives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, elected officials, and government agencies to advance Hydro One's interests.
- Travel to Indigenous communities across Ontario to establish and maintain strategic relationships.
- Apply judgment and discretion in managing sensitive issues involving Indigenous communities and their citizens.
- Lead the implementation of key initiatives to increase Indigenous satisfaction and enhance Hydro One's reputation across all Indigenous communities.
- Manage project budgets and maximize the impact of each dollar.
- Supervise staff and contractors engaged in Indigenous relations programs and projects.
- 5+ years of progressively senior work experience in Indigenous relations and engagement, stakeholder relations, land or environment.
- Experience working in Indigenous communities on major capital projects leading engagement planning and strategy.
- Track record and experience in negotiations will be an asset.
- Highly self-motivated and relationship-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
- Proven track record in building relationships with Indigenous communities and collaborating across stakeholder and business functions.
- Strong strategic planning skills and people leadership experience.
- Able to work collaboratively and build networks across business units and with Indigenous groups externally.
- High degree of PC literacy, including MS Office applications.
- Bachelor's Degree (4 year college or university).
