Payments Expert for BNPL Regulatory Support

We are seeking a highly experienced Product Counsel to join our Legal team in the US or Canada. This is a 9-month contract role, requiring a Canadian law license and offering a competitive hourly rate of $90-$115.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise internal teams on product and regulatory work related to BNPL offerings in Canada.
  • Review frameworks, policies, and processes to comply with RPAA regulations.
  • Assist with implementing IDV requirements and FCAC Consumer Driven Regs.
  • Provide guidance on allowing merchants to use BNPL products embedded within e-commerce websites and mobile applications.
  • Support ongoing product management and regulatory needs, including drafting terms of use and other disclaimers.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience as a licensed lawyer in Canada.
  • Significant payments experience and expertise in consumer laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
