About the Role

We are seeking experienced Principals to join our team at the Upper Canada District School Board. As a Principal, you will play a key role in leading and managing our schools, ensuring that our students receive a high-quality education and that our staff are supported in their roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage school operations, including budgeting, staffing, and facilities management
  • Develop and implement school improvement plans, aligned with the Ontario Leadership Framework and the accompanying Personal Leadership Resources
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff, promoting a positive and inclusive school climate
  • Collaborate with other school leaders and district staff to achieve district goals and objectives
  • Ensure that our schools are safe, inclusive, and equitable environments for all students
Requirements
  • At least five years' teaching experience in at least two divisions (Primary, Junior, Intermediate, Senior) and preferably in more than one school
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Vice-Principal at the time of application
  • Completion of Ontario Principal's Course, PQP Part 2, or proof of enrollment with a completion date prior to September 1, 2025
  • Special Education Part 1 or proof of enrollment
  • Demonstrated expertise in school improvement practices, assessment and evaluation practices, technology skills, and conflict management/communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in creating equitable learning opportunities that increase outcomes for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students and awareness of Indigenous perspectives and histories for all learners
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in creating and supporting a positive school climate that fosters and promotes equity, inclusive education, and diversity
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with remote learning platforms and pedagogy
