Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to oversee the processing of all shipments, as well as the movement and monitoring while in route. This role will be responsible for supervising the handling of shipments, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate daily shipments
  • Direct desk-level operations of the Operations Department
  • Champion process and procedure to meet or exceed company KPI requirements
  • Establish and coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipments
  • Prepare and publish reports as requested
  • Mentor and train new staff
  • Proactively identify problems and implement solutions
  • Responsible for cost containment of shipments
  • Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, and select cost-effective delivery methods
  • Daily communication with customers on relevant issues and resolution
  • Manage new account implementation from standard operating procedure to execution
  • Ability to demonstrate deductive logic, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting skills
  • Effectively deal with issues within scope of responsibility
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
Quality, Health & Safety
  • Support organizational commitment to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certification
  • Perform assigned tasks to support DSV meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety, and environment
  • Follow all requirements as set out in the DSV Quality Health Safety Environment policy
Qualifications
  • Education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a freight forwarding environment
  • CIFFA certificate, an asset
  • Dangerous Goods certification, an asset
  • ACR designated status, an asset (for Airfreight only)

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Regular working hours apply for this position, at times, working beyond these hours may be required by business needs
