Logistics Supervisor Job Description

Lakeside Variety Store is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and logistics functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Co-ordination and Planning: Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure efficient workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and submit reports to management on warehouse operations, inventory levels, and logistics performance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery, and arrange for maintenance and repair work as needed.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise a team of 3-4 staff members, providing guidance, training, and performance reviews to ensure they meet their job expectations.
  • Training and Development: Arrange training for staff to improve their skills and knowledge, and conduct performance reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Work Scheduling: Establish work schedules and procedures to ensure efficient use of resources and meet business needs.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a logistics or supply chain role.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Outlook and other relevant software applications.
Work Environment:

The Logistics Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring strong attention to detail and organizational skills. The role involves working with a team of staff members, and requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:

The Logistics Supervisor will be required to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and work in a warehouse environment.
