Senior Research and Development Engineer

At Baylis Medical Technologies Inc., we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Research and Development Engineer to drive innovation and growth in our dynamic portfolio of medical devices.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading company in the biomedical industry and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology that improves patient care.

As a Senior Research and Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, developing and maintaining our innovative products, and collaborating with regulatory bodies to obtain approvals.

You'll also have the chance to engage with our IP department on patent issuance and drive the development of intellectual property within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of plans and testing for design verification and validation
  • Drive the development of intellectual property within the company
  • Provide technical, project-level leadership to junior engineering staff as needed
  • Support and lead Research and Development sustaining projects as they arise on commercial production lines
  • Adhere to all requirements of the Quality Management System

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a bachelor's Engineering degree
  • ~6+ years of experience working in an engineering role
  • ~ Knowledge of risk management as per ISO
  • ~ Ability to independently develop and adapt work plans based on vague or changing project goals
  • ~ Strong hypothesis-driven experimental design and statistical analysis skills
  • ~ Demonstrated experience in creative engineering design
  • ~ Strong interest in biomedical technology
  • ~ Dynamic, flexible approach to work with a results-oriented attitude
