Senior Research and Development Engineer

At Baylis Medical Technologies Inc., we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Research and Development Engineer to drive innovation and growth in our dynamic portfolio of medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of innovative medical devices from concept to commercialization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate product development stages
  • Develop and maintain intellectual property within the company
  • Provide technical leadership to junior engineering staff
  • Support and lead Research and Development sustaining projects on commercial production lines
  • Adhere to quality management system requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in an engineering role
  • Knowledge of risk management (ISO)
  • Ability to develop and adapt work plans based on project goals
  • Strong hypothesis-driven experimental design and statistical analysis skills
  • Demonstrated experience in creative engineering design
  • Strong interest in biomedical technology
  • Dynamic and flexible approach to work with a results-oriented attitude

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in medical devices development with a focus on Research and Development
  • Knowledge of hydrophilic coating, injection molding part design, or steerable catheters/sheaths development
