Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Healthcare Educator to join our team at North Island College in Comox Valley. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about teaching and mentoring students in the Health Care Assistant Certificate program.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing in assigned subject areas, developing learning materials, and directing student learning in a positive and supportive environment. You will also be required to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators, and contribute to the development of educational policies and strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments
  • Teach in assigned subject areas and include all required subject matter or skill activity
  • Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a Practical Nursing credential or BSN degree, two years' experience teaching adults, preferably at the post-secondary level, and work experience in gerontics. A combination of education and experience may be considered. You should also possess excellent organizational and time management skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to plan and prioritize tasks efficiently.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will also receive benefits, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings, and paid vacation time.
