Job Summary


We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to teach in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at North Island College's Comox Valley campus.



About the Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching practice courses and implementing creative strategies in the preparation and delivery of learning activities. They will also use initiative in providing documentation and follow-up with regard to student concerns and problem resolution, and bring facilitation skills to management of conflict.



Duties and Responsibilities

  • To plan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments;
  • To use a variety of approaches and materials, as appropriate, in order to address different learning needs;
  • To teach in assigned subject areas and to include in courses, and in course outlines, all required subject matter or skill activity;
  • To direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment;
  • To maintain records of student enrollment and achievement and other records required by the College and affiliated agencies.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with Bachelor's Degree;
  • Master's Degree (completed or in progress) preferred;
  • Current registration with BCCNM (inclusive of Criminal Record);
  • Current CPR level HCP;
  • Expertise and experience in one or more of the following practice areas: Adult Surgery, and/or Mental Health;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize, and efficiently meet deadlines;
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills;
  • Valid BC driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.


Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is between $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include health and dental insurance, retirement savings, and professional development opportunities.
