Sessional Instructor, Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Sessional Instructor to teach in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at North Island College. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing the practice course NUR 276: Consolidated Practice Experience II to a cohort of BSN students via a face-to-face delivery method.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach in assigned subject areas and include all required subject matter or skill activity in courses and course outlines.
- Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment.
- Be available to students regularly during scheduled office hours and classroom hours to discuss their progress and other issues that influence their learning.
- Clearly communicate in writing learning outcomes for programs and courses, and the way in which learners will be evaluated against those outcomes.
- Design and conduct evaluations or appraisals of students and keep students informed of their progress.
- Submit grades in a timely manner, in accordance with College policy.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's Degree.
- Master's Degree (completed or in progress) preferred.
- Experience teaching adults, preferably at the post-secondary level.
- Current registration with BCCNM (inclusive of Criminal Record).
- Current CPR level HCP.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of full-time two years experience (within the last five years) with expertise in one or more of the following areas of practice: Women & Children, Mental Health, Adult Medicine, Adult Surgery.
- Experience or interest with Indigenous health and/or global health is an asset.
- Experience using a variety of creative and motivating approaches to stimulate learning within a distributed teaching-learning environment and classroom is an asset.
