Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician to join our team at Aspire Bakeries. This role is responsible for protecting the food by conducting safety and quality sampling, testing, and completing required documentation to meet our Integrated Management System Program (AIMS) requirements.

Aspire Bakeries is a North American baking company with a leadership position in specialty frozen baked goods. Our innovative food portfolio includes breads, artisan breads, buns, cookies, donuts, muffins, and pastries from beloved brands like La Brea Bakery, Otis Spunkmeyer, and Oakrun Farm Bakery. With 13 bakeries in North America, we prioritize driving innovation, predicting consumer trends, and exceeding customer expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct product tests and take immediate action to correct out-of-specification products, documenting accurately.
  • Demonstrate and enforce Critical Control Points (CCPs), rigorously monitoring and following up on necessary actions to eliminate deviations.
  • Making decisions to stop production or place products on hold when they are out of specification, communicating effectively with supervision on all production stoppage events.
  • Notifying supervision in a timely manner of unapproved changes made to product settings that could negatively affect quality.
  • Making important observations about products, packaging, equipment, and environments, taking corrective actions when necessary to meet Company or third-party regulations.
  • Demonstrating and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), diligently monitoring and following up on corrective actions when necessary.
  • Monitoring equipment settings to ensure accuracy and recording findings.
  • Working on the Production line in various positions between QA duties.
  • Training line leads to be primary Q.A. technicians in their absence.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED; some college science courses or experience in the food industry preferred.
  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to operate scales, metal detection devices, ovens, and other instrumentation and measuring devices.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
Estimated Salary Range

$22-$28 per hour, based on location, education, skill level, and experience.
