We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our team at Pet Supermarket. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing our Hardlines categories and driving business growth through strategic category management practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement annual merchandising plans to meet volume goals and margin requirements.
- Develop and maintain category management practices, processes, and tools to optimize assortment, quality, mix, margin, and pricing.
- Oversee assortment strategy for all products, including an annual merchandise roadmap.
- Monitor product releases, pricing, and development calendar milestones.
- Identify product needs based on analytics, customer feedback, and competitive analysis.
- Maintain updated knowledge of key competitor product, distribution, and pricing strategies.
- Analyze real-time sales performance to identify areas of risk and opportunity.
- Develop and implement plans to address areas of risk and opportunity.
- Partner with Marketing to drive customer acquisition and retention.
- Ensure all functional areas within the company stay educated about the consumer and products.
- Partner with Operations to tailor plans to successfully execute category business plans.
- 4-6 years of experience in a merchandising role.
- Bachelor's degree in business management or related field.
- Strong background in proven category management processes.
- Deep experience in category line reviews.
- Action Oriented: Enjoys working hard; is action oriented and full of energy for the things seen as challenging.
