Category Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our team at Pet Supermarket. As a key member of our Merchandising team, you will be responsible for managing our Hardlines categories and driving business growth through strategic category management practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute annual merchandising plans to meet volume goals and margin requirements.
- Develop and maintain category management practices, processes, and tools to optimize product assortment and pricing.
- Oversee assortment strategy for all products, including an annual merchandise roadmap.
- Monitor product releases, pricing, and development calendar milestones.
- Identify product needs based on analytics, customer feedback, and competitive analysis.
- Analyze real-time sales performance to identify areas of risk and opportunity.
- Develop and maintain a high-performing merchandising team through talent acquisition, coaching, and skill development.
- Partner with Marketing to drive customer acquisition and retention.
- Ensure all functional areas within the company stay educated about the consumer and products.
- 4-6 years of experience in a merchandising role.
- Bachelor's degree in business management or related field, with an MBA preferred.
- Strong background in proven category management processes.
- Deep experience in category line reviews.
- Action Oriented: Enjoys working hard and is full of energy for challenging tasks.
- Dealing With Ambiguity: Can effectively cope with change and uncertainty.
- Business Acumen: Knows how businesses work and is aware of current and future policies, practices, and trends.
- Decision Quality: Makes good decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.

- Organizational Agility: Knowledgeable about how organizations work and can get things done through formal and informal channels.
