At Queen's University, we are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Advancement and Development team as a Strategic Fundraising Director. Reporting directly to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), this role will play a pivotal part in driving principal gifts fundraising strategies for transformative initiatives of highest value and priority.

About the Role

This is an extraordinary opportunity for a seasoned professional with expertise in strategic leadership, relationship building, and high-level fundraising. The successful candidate will develop and execute targeted strategies to secure lifetime engagement and philanthropic support from key stakeholders, focusing on gifts exceeding $5 million. This includes partnering with senior administrators, campus partners, and the Advancement Leadership Team to foster a collaborative environment that drives results.

The ideal candidate will possess a sophisticated understanding of principal gift fundraising, demonstrated through experience managing diverse portfolios and navigating complex relationships. As a key advisor to the Development Leadership Team and other stakeholders, they will provide expert guidance, facilitating effective collaboration and informing strategic decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive principal gifts fundraising strategies aligned with university priorities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key donors, senior administrators, and campus partners
  • Collaborate with the Advancement and Development Leadership Teams to drive fundraising efforts and achieve goals
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of principal gift level donors, providing tailored support and stewardship
Requirements

  • Familiarity with the higher education sector and a deep understanding of its complexities
