Overview:

PeopleToGo is seeking an experienced IT infrastructure support specialist to join our team in St. John's, Newfoundland.

About the Role:

This position provides Incident Management Level 1 support and technical assistance for all servers and systems in the designated site, ensuring seamless accessibility of client tools and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide desktop and end-user support, resolving level I issues and escalating to vendors or Level II support as needed
  • Manage server administration, including logins, passwords, patching, backups, and restores
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checklists accurately and on time
  • Add, move, and change user accounts in the local center
  • Participate in Change Implementation Management (CIM) and submit change control documentation according to organizational standards
  • Manage IT asset inventory and disposal, ensuring compliance with organizational standards
  • Assist with troubleshooting remote issues and provide backup support for Power Infrastructure
  • Serve as the primary IT point of contact for the Site Director, addressing site IT needs, plans, and issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MCSE certification preferred
  • MCP certification required
  • Cisco, VOIP, and Aruba wireless knowledge a plus
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of Windows 2000, 2003 server management applications (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory Users and Computers)
  • VERITAS Backup Exec software knowledge
  • Microsoft ISA 2000, 2006 administration knowledge
  • Understanding of Windows 2003 and patching requirements
  • Windows client operating systems (XP and Vista) knowledge
  • Basic understanding of VMware
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary Range: $22-$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
