Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our team at The Biryaniwalla Scarborough. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that our high standards of quality and presentation are consistently met.

About the Role
  • This is a permanent position with a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • You will work in a fast-paced environment, managing kitchen operations and maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • As a Line Cook, you will also train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and ensure that all food safety guidelines are followed.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Manage kitchen operations
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a Line Cook or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and repetitive tasks
  • Standing for extended periods and working under pressure
