About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler. As a key member of our food and beverage team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Sidecut restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing staff, maintaining quality standards, and maximizing profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff, including waitstaff, server assistants, and hosts.
- Schedule shifts and manage staff rotations to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to employees to maintain high service and performance standards.
- Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and resolve any staff-related issues or conflicts.
- Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction, ensuring that guests have an exceptional dining experience.
- Interact with customers, handle complaints or concerns, and address any issues promptly and professionally.
- Monitor service quality, table turnover, and overall guest satisfaction, taking appropriate actions to improve where necessary.
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Analyze financial reports, such as DRR, forecast sheets, P&L's, and budgets, to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to achieve financial targets in collaboration with the marketing and culinary teams.
- Implement cost-control measures, monitor expenses, and work towards optimizing operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotions, special events, and marketing initiatives to attract and retain customers.
- Work closely with the culinary team to develop and refine the steakhouse menu, ensuring a diverse selection of high-quality dishes.
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion sizes through regular inspections and staff training.
- Monitor food preparation, cooking techniques, and adherence to food safety standards to maintain excellence in food quality.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a restaurant manager, preferably in a steakhouse or high-end dining establishment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of restaurant operations, including food and beverage management, staffing, and financials.
- Proven track record in driving sales, achieving targets, and managing costs.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
