Welding Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Welding Technician at Martinrea International Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products by identifying and resolving welding concerns. Your expertise in welding metallurgy, NDE techniques, and gas metal arc welding will be essential in maintaining our high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding inspections and analyze weld data to generate reports
  • Establish and maintain welding parameters to support production and quality assurance
  • Conduct robotic weld touchups and assist with training production personnel
  • Participate in problem-solving activities and contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Support the welding engineering team in new and existing programs

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in welding technology or a related field
  • Sound understanding of welding metallurgy and NDE techniques
  • Manual GMAW experience and working knowledge of industrial robots
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of ISO/TS 16949:2002 and measuring equipment

Working Conditions:

10% office, 90% plant floor (PPE required)

Effort/Physical Demands:

Constant communication with employees, peers, and management, with overtime as required

Maintain a safe working environment, adhere to health and safety regulations, and use required equipment and protective devices
